Though every attempt to petition for their mother’s COVID-19 treatment was met with “strange behaviors and attitudes” by hospital staff, Clover and Jodi Carroll recalled what their mother often affirmed when they were growing up: “Carrolls never quit.”

On July 5, 2021, Carolyn Carroll was admitted to a Texas hospital where she died on Aug. 1, 2021, at the hands of what Clover and Jodi allege to be the hospital’s protocols used to treat COVID-19.

For siblings, Carolyn’s story is representative of what they called “medical tyranny” that has been forced on “thousands of people across the country.”

However, Clover and Jodi maintain they aren’t victims.

“Victims ask why this is happening,” Clover told The Epoch Times. “Survivors ask what they can do about it.”

Today, Clover and Jodi both participate in the FormerFedsGroup Freedom Foundation (FFFF), an organization that has gathered over 250 of these stories through its COVID-19 Humanity Betrayal Memory Project to build an online database of testimonies.
Clover’s marketing agency, New Story Media, has joined with FFFF to document “as many stories as possible.”

“We are pivoting everything that we are doing to wake up the sheep—and I don’t mean that as a derogatory term,” Clover said. “The sheep are the people who just don’t know, and the wolves are those who don’t want to know and are fighting to keep others from knowing.”

Their story of administrative wolves circling a federally reimbursed COVID-19 death is one of many that have surfaced in the last two years, leaving those who have lost loved ones in hospitals to question whether they died of COVID-19 complications or the protocols used to treat the disease.

‘They Could Not Think Outside the Prescribed Protocol’

“Every day, I would just describe it as having to increase or escalate the efforts that we’re putting forward to—number one—be heard by the hospital; number two, ask questions and have straightforward answers; and number three, when we decided on having a different treatment plan, just to have any kind of reasonable hearing at all,” Jodi told The Epoch Times.

Staff shut down discussions about the potential use of ivermectin and other treatments recommended by the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care (FLCCC) Alliance, Jodi said.

When they requested an ethics consultation on their mother’s treatment, they received a vague response; however, what they later found was a hospital staff member had responded to their request to set up a meeting by calling—instead of theirs—the cellphone of their mother, who was lying in the hospital bed on a ventilator.

Among the staff giving mixed messages and speaking in the doublespeak of legalese was a nurse who reported to Clover and Jodi that their mother was doing well while pushing them to decide on whether or not she should be resuscitated, Clover said.

According to Jodi, their mother was assigned to palliative care on the first day.

On July 13, they were told their mother was doing well, but on July 15, she was put on the ventilator.

“It was almost like it was so robotic that they could not think outside the prescribed protocol,” Jodi said. “We’re a family of business people who think outside the box. We think of creative solutions, so our rationale was: Well, gosh, if what you’re doing right now isn’t working, why not try something else?”

Their father, Carolyn’s representative, had been quarantined, Clover said.

As they became more involved, Clover speculated that they had extended the quarantine period for their father to keep them at bay, Clover said.

Clover added that his father, Lee, was never COVID-positive or sick, but he was told to leave because he had been in close contact with Carolyn.

Clover and Jodi did what many were told in 2021 they shouldn’t be doing: they did their own research.

A Hypocritical Oath

Jodi had already connected with Dr. Peter McCullough, an outspoken advocate of early-treatment protocols, discussions on which were being censored throughout mainstream and social media outlets.

McCullough, who coached Clover and Jodi, wrote about their experience in his book, “The Courage to Face COVID-19: Preventing Hospitalization and Death While Battling the Bio-Pharmaceutical Complex.”

In 2018, President Donald Trump signed the Right to Try Act into law, which allowed patients with life-threatening diseases who have exhausted all other options to try certain unapproved treatments.

They had an attorney draft a right-to-try letter with the provision that the hospital would be indemnified against all harm if any drug such as ivermectin—which has been deemed by physicians such as McCullough as safer than Tylenol—injured their mother.

They also asked for an increase in the anticoagulant drug Lovenox from 40 to 80 milligrams, Jodi said.

“They only increased it to 60 milligrams, far below what she needed,” Jodi said.

Their mother’s autopsy report showed that she died from blood clotting in the lungs, Jodi said.

“So, we have proof at the end of this one-month saga that if they had done what we were asking from day one she would have had a chance to live,” Jodi said.

There was no reason to withhold what could have been life-saving medication, Jodi said.

“And so, then we had to crank it up a notch,” Jodi said.

They hired another attorney and filed an application for a temporary restraining order and a temporary mandatory injunction against the hospital to mandate the FLCCC protocol.

Though the judge approved the injunction, hospital attorneys had nullified it by the time it came to administer the medicine the next day, Jodi said.

“They had a whole host of reasons why they couldn’t and wouldn’t administer this medication,” Jodi said. “The most offensive to me was the Hippocratic Oath, claiming they could do no harm. I’ve come to call it the hypocritical oath.”

An attorney for the hospital had told the judge that if he allowed the medicine to be administered, then he would be guilty of practicing medicine without a license, Jodi said.

However, Jodi argued, withholding potentially life-saving medication is also a form of practicing medicine.

“Wouldn’t it be better to be guilty of that, in my mind, rather than practicing divinity without a license,” Jodi said. “You’re going to decide she dies? That’s in essence what he did.”

For Clover, it was a slow, painful process of “waking up,” he said.

“We had always trusted doctors,” Clover said. “Now, we were being introduced to this new medical tyranny.”

A Brief Exchange

In her notes she kept, Jodi recalls the last time she saw her mother “awake and aware.”

Jodi was allowed to see her mother outside the window through which they made hand-hearts, Jodi wrote.

Jodi passed a message to her mom through the nurse: “Cera says she loves you,” a message which brought a narrowing of the eyes at the corners, indicating a smile under the BiPac mask, Jodi wrote.

Cera, Jodi wrote, is her mother’s border collie and best friend.

“This brief exchange was a direct gift from God that I will always cherish,” Jodi wrote. “Other hospitals strictly forbade families from seeing the patient. God opened the door for me to show my mother love in her final stages. A last glimpse of the most genuine source of love I’ve ever known.”

On July 28, they lost their hearing for a preliminary injunction, Jodi said, and on Aug. 1, they lost their Carolyn.

Though she found that the medical establishment is “well protected” in Texas, Jodi said she continued to pursue justice so that she could feel she did all she could for Carolyn.

After several attorneys insinuated that the reason her mother died was because she was unvaccinated, Jodi said, “That’s when I just hit the wall.”

More information needs to come out on the corruption, she said, to allow for other attorneys across the country to win some cases and set a precedent before they can proceed with legal recourse.

A Broken Family

Carolyn’s passing left the family divided, Clover said, with her side of the family blaming Clover, Jodi, and her father for her death.

“I’m not talking about just an insinuation but outright publicly on social media blaming us for her death,” Clover said. “It has fractured our family, and I don’t see any healing at this point.”

The propaganda surrounding COVID-19 has not only divided families, but it’s also divided the country, Jodi said, even though the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has backtracked on a majority of what many continue to uphold as religious COVID dogma, some are still wearing masks and insisting on boosters to “protect the community.”

Organizations such as the TN Liberty Network (TLN) have charted trillions released through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act that flowed into multiple three-letter agencies such as the National Institute of Health, the CDC, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services that incentivize federal reimbursements of hospitals that use these protocols to vaccinate, test, diagnose, admit COVID patients, and report COVID-related deaths.

The amount of money backing these policies has left many to speculate whether the mandates such as COVID-19 directives President Joe Biden issued in 2021 were really about protecting people’s health.

“Were the hospitals being paid per death? Was there some sort of incentive to follow as a mandate the CDC recommendation?” Jodi asked. “I still have so many questions. Why did they need to know my mother’s vaccination status? Was she receiving proper nutrition?”

A Great Refining

Clover and Jodi continue to question the narrative, do their own research, and tell the stories of others who share their experiences with the protocols to honor the spirit of their mother, they said.

Though much of the world has been divided, Jodi said, the division itself has forced people to choose either faith or fear.

“This is a personal call to each of us to decide what we are made of,” Jodi said. “What are you willing to stand for? What are you willing to die for? I think all of us are feeling a great refining taking place.”
