Vivek Hallegere Murthy, the co-founder of Doctors for America, could be nominated by President Obama to be Surgeon General.
Politico reported that Obama is looking to nominate Murthy, who was appointed in 2011 by the White House to serve on the Advisory Group on Prevention, Health Promotion, and Integrative and Public Health as part of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.
Murthy holds a degree from Yale University and got his bachelors at Harvard University.
According to an account on Epernicus.com, he says “I study people’s journeys to find inspiration in their work.”
Regina Benjamin, the current Surgeon General, announced she would resign in July.
