Five children were playing at a park before they stopped and saluted when they heard a familiar song.
The incident, captured on video, has gone viral again.
The kids stop playing when they hear a horn for “Taps” play loudly. The playground was located at a North Carolina Marine Corps base.
“When colors sound this is what happens,” Danielle Tomei Davila, the uploader, writes. “And what SHOULD happen!”
The video has generated more than 4 million views, and many people praised the children on YouTube.
“You did a fine job raising your children Marine,” one commenter wrote. “I was stationed there back in 72 and noticed the kids at that time were the same way. You should be very proud of them.”
Added another: “These Marine Corps kids were raised right!!! When they heard the retreat begin to play they did what they were raised to do and stand at attention. This is not out disrespectful!! I grew up with a father who was in two wars and I have a lot of respect for all of our military service personnel.”
Soccer Teams Stop
A video showing how a high school soccer’s girl team responds when the U.S. national anthem starts to play has gone viral over the years. The Great Falls High and CM Russell teams play across the street at a park from the Air Force Base.
When the anthem plays, the teams stop whatever they’re doing and stand the anthem, the report said.
CMR girls coach Willie Pyette said it’s a tradition that started several years ago after he took over the program before moving practice to the field.
He said it’s not designed to be a political statement.
“I have our team stop, stand at attention and honor the anthem,” Pyette told the website. “Then we go back to practice. We all stand and show respect.”
He said the tradition will continue.
