President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump sent out their annual Christmas Message on Twitter on Dec. 25.

“Melania and I are truly thrilled to wish every American a very, Merry Christmas,” said President Trump.

“During the Christmas season, we rejoice in God’s many blessings. We come together with family and friends to spread hope, love, compassion, cheer, and goodwill,” said Melania, “And we remember the events of one holy night more than 2,000 years ago.”

Trump Wants Wall Done by 2020, Won’t Predict End to Shutdown

President Donald Trump has set a deadline of Nov. 3, 2020—Election Day—for completion of a wall that he has vowed to build along the southern border.

Meanwhile, he declined to estimate when the partial shutdown of the federal government will end, maintaining his demand that Congress approve more money for the wall project.

“I can’t tell when the government’s going to be open. I can tell you that it’s not going to be open until we have a wall or fence, whatever they’d like to call it,” Trump told reporters on Dec. 25 at the White House. “I’ll call it whatever they want. But it’s all the same thing. It’s a barrier from people pouring into our country, from drugs, … human trafficking.”

8-Year-Old Dies in Hospital After Illegally Crossing Border into US

An 8-year-old boy has died in the hospital after he and his father illegally crossed the border into the United States, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials said in a statement.

The boy from Guatemala died shortly after midnight on Dec. 24 at Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

Officials said the boy, who was in CBP custody, started showing signs of “a potential illness” on Dec. 24. He was promptly transferred to the medical center where he was diagnosed with a common cold and a fever by hospital staff. The child was observed for an additional 90 minutes in the hospital and was given prescriptions for amoxicillin and Ibuprofen, before he was released from the hospital in the afternoon of Dec. 24.

Surfing Santas Visit Florida Beach

Santa Claus broke away from his deliveries to catch some waves along Florida’s Gold Coast.

Hundreds of surfers dressed up as Santa to ride the waves in Cocoa Beach, Florida on Christmas Eve, all in the name of charity.

The refreshing tradition began in 2009 when surfer George Trosset and his wife Nihla were inspired by a Honda ad of surfers wearing Santa Claus suits.
