Vice President Mike Pence voiced optimism over the administration’s effort to negotiate the denuclearization of North Korea, and he pledged to continue the U.S. effort to bring “our missing fallen home” from the Korean Peninsula during a flag presentation ceremony at the Korean War Memorial on the National Mall.

“Just recently, Kim Jong Un announced his commitment to allow nuclear inspections, subject to final negotiations,” Pence said.

Pence said North Korea’s dictator also pledged to dismantle a nuclear test site and a launch pad in the presence of international observers.

Pence said he and President Donald Trump “welcome this good news,” adding, “we look forward to further progress.”

Speaking about the missing in action, Pence said, “The United States will leave no one behind.”

Boy Asks President Trump for a Hug While Visiting Volunteers

U.S. President Donald Trump set off for North and South Carolina to help with the recovery, his first stop was in North Carolina on Sept. 19.

Trump arrived in New Bern on Sept.19, to meet everyone who was affected by the hurricane.

While Trump was handing out food at the Temple Baptist Church, a young boy with a black cap named Tucker asked the President for a favor.

“Can I have a hug?” said Tucker.

“Yes! Come here!” said Trump.

The old lady standing behind them, also a volunteer said “now you made me cry” after Trump embraced Tucker.

Trump then had photos taken with Tucker and another boy.

132,000 Pounds of Ground Beef Recalled After 17 People Get Sick

A nationwide ground beef recall was announced on Wednesday, Sept. 19, for the second consecutive month.

The recall of approximately 132,000 pounds of ground beef came from Cargill Meat Solutions, which was also the target of an August recall of approximately 25,000 pounds of ground beef.

The recalls stem from possible E. coli contamination, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

Cathay Pacific Apologizes For Massive Typo

Cathay Pacific tweeted out an apology after letting one of its planes fly around with a titanic misspelling—Cathay Paciic—without the “F”.

Photos have emerged that appear to show a plane on the ground at Hong Kong International Airport, proudly emblazoned with the words “CATHAY PACIIC.”

Cathay Pacific shared the photos on social media when apologized. It announced on its Twitter account: “Oops this special livery won’t last long! She’s going back to the shop!”

Close the Loophole: Groups Call for Shoring up Legislation to Prevent ‘Human Trafficking’

It is nothing more than “commercialized trafficking of human remains,” Emmy Pfister, coordinator of a citizens group called Australians Against Bodies Exhibit, said at a press conference on Sept. 16.

The citizens group is calling for an investigation into the identities of the real human bodies that have been on display as part of the “Real Bodies: The Exhibition” at the Entertainment Quarter in Sydney.

The exhibit, presented by Imagine Exhibitions, boasts on its website to be “an educational experience with multi-layered narratives,” featuring 20 cadavers and over 200 organs sourced from Dalian, China. The humans have been plastinated, a process which uses liquid silicone rubber to prevent decay.
