A 48-year-old Florida woman was arrested for child abuse after a video revealed she had kicked and bruised a toddler to wake her up.

The Tampa Bay Times reported Linda K. Klemm, a child care employee at Kids Stop-N-Play daycare in Holiday, Fla., was charged with child abuse for bruising 16-month-old Lillian Roan.

Lillian’s mother, Crystal Faggione, 24, of New Port Richey, Fla., noticed her daughter had a bruise underneath her eye, a few on the forehead, and a bald patch on her head, after she picked up her daughter from the day care.

The child’s father, Joseph Roan, 36, had dropped her off for a her third day at the daycare, early in the day on Saturday, Jan. 18.

After Faggione picked her daughter up at 12:45 p.m., she first noticed the bruise under the eye and called the day care. She was told that the bruise was already there and no one at the daycare caused it, said Faggione.

This did not happen in my house. This happened here.

Later, Faggione noticed more bruises on Lillian’s forehead, which prompted her to take her daughter back to the daycare.

“This did not happen in my house. This happened here,” Faggione says she told the day care.

Lillian’s family notified the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, which viewed the video obtained from the daycare and arrested Klemm that same day.

Klemm repeatedly denied kicking the little girl even after viewing the video herself. She was released on $5,000 bail the next day.
