What transpires above is perhaps every roller coaster aficionado’s nightmare.
Delbert Latham and his son Kaysen Latham were riding the “mousetrap” roller coaster at “Wonderland” fair ground in Zita, Texas when the terrifying event happened.
The above video, uploaded to the senior Latham’s Facebook on April 22, captures the moment when Kaysen’s safety belt breaks and the small boy slides to the bottom of the car.
Latham pulls his son from the car’s floor and holds him tightly to him for the remainder of the ride.
Attempting to reassure his son, Latham can be heard telling Kaysen: “I gotcha. You’re fine, I promise.”
The scary incident gets worse when Latham relates the incident to the operator after getting off the ride.
“[The operator] stated that he knew that had happened sometimes!!” Latham irately wrote in the video’s caption. “Really it’s already happens and you continue to let people ride??!! And after this they continued to let people ride they just didn’t let anyone in the back seat!”
Latham asks viewers to feel free to share the video to “let people know how this place is being ran!”
As of April 25, the video has been shared over 3,600 times and viewed almost 140,000 times.
