NEW YORK—A group of Chinese from New Jersey, Flushing, and Brooklyn held an assembly in front of the Queens Library in Flushing on November 23 to advise Peng Keyu, the Chinese Consul General in New York, to leave New York by himself before being expelled.
David Lu, spokesman for the assembly, said that the American government has implied that Peng should leave, “Peng Keyu’s recorded dialogue (admitting his involvement) has been proved to be true by the American government. The New York Post reported that the U.S. State Department is currently considering whether to expel Peng Keyu.”
“The American government as a host has said it. But, considering the issue of saving face, it might not be not good diplomatically to expel you [Peng]. However, as the host has said, “Peng Keyu, as a guest should know his place.” The host has said he does not welcome this guest through the New York Post. So, you should just leave by yourself, Peng.” Said Lu.
Mr. Zhang, a passerby, told the Epoch Times that he is surprised, “Why hasn’t Peng Keyu left?” Zhang travelled to New York from Shanghai for a few days. He knew about the Flushing incident even in China. He knew that Peng planned it, so he thought Peng had left long ago. Another incident that amazed Zhang was there were people verbally attacking the faith group which believes in truthfulness, forbearance, and compassion on Flushing’s Main Street.
It is reported that the victims of the Flushing incident have submitted a complaint to the U.S. Department of Justice. They sued Peng for encouraging and supporting the pro-Beijing Chinese thugs in Flushing to violently attack Falun Gong practitioners. Peng is suspected of committing a hate crime. Related materials of Peng’s activities were also sent to many U.S. officials and more than 200 diplomatic envoys at the United Nations.
David Lu also said that if Peng is unwilling to leave, it will negatively affect the image of the Chinese Communist regime. “It’s not good for the regime. It sends a person with such a bad reputation to New York. How can such a person carry out the work of overseas Chinese affairs? Such a person should be sent back to China.”
Lu also said that they will continue holding similar rallies in other parts of the eastern United States. “We will place an advertisement and also an article in the Epoch Times and ask them to publish it on Christmas, because the Communist Party in Flushing was blatantly out of control. Several people here were almost beaten when joining the parade on May 17.”
