US Airways apologized Monday after it tweeted out a photo of a graphic, pornographic image.

The image was shared thousands of times on Twitter.

The pornographic image was deleted shortly after it was shared.

The airline apologized profusely after the incident.

“We apologize for an inappropriate image recently shared as a link in one of our responses. We’ve removed the tweet and are investigating,” the company tweeted.

“We don’t like to hear this, Elle. Please provide feedback to our Customer Relations team here,” the tweet said. It then had the pornographic image underneath it. It was responding to a woman, who wrote: “Unhappy that 1787 sat for an hour on tarmac in CLT because overweight, resulting in over hour late arrival in PDX...”
