Ellie Kemper announced on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” that she and screenwriter husband Michael Koman are expecting their first baby.

“I have big news!” said Kemper, 35, during the April 14 airing. “I’m pregnant!”

Fallon, just as excited as the cheering crowd, loudly greeted the baby with a “Hi Baby!”

He continued to shout at Kemper’s tummy: “I can’t wait for you to see the show, your mommy is very funny; she’s very talented!” Kemper noted that Fallon is the first to “bless” the unborn baby.

The “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” star was then gifted a pint of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream of the funnyman’s flavor “The Tonight Dough.”

“Anyone who knows me—I love Ben and Jerry’s. The Tonight Dough is my favorite flavor. I’ve been having a pint every other night,” said Kemper. “I will probably fall asleep while I eat this because its going to be a Pavlovian response because I fall asleep eating it at night.”

Fallon joked that her baby will become a genius after eating the ice cream.

Kemper also revealed that she was pregnant during taping of “Unbreakable,” which didn’t affect filming much until in the script her character was to ride a roller coaster. Tina Fey, the creator of the show—who knew Kemper was pregnant before Kemper’s own mother did—kept the pregnancy a secret from the cast and went along with the charade that Kemper was suffering from a back injury.

This is the second lot of baby news from Hollywood this week. Kelly Clarkson announced via Twitter that she gave birth to a baby boy on April 12.
