There’s been reports that Twitter is mulling replacing “retweet” with “share.”
According to Business Insider, the company is looking to change the “retweet” to “share,” which sounds similar to Facebook and other social media sites.
Some Twitter users currently see “share” instead of “retweet.”
It appears, however, that they aren’t taking it lightly.
“‘Share with followers’ WHY ISNT IT CALLED RETWEET ANYMORE I DIDNT SIGN UP FOR THIS,” reads one of many negative tweets about the function.
According to Digital Spy, the “share” button is being used for some people with iOS accounts.
The update was spotted by CNET reporter Eli Langer, who tweeted: “Goodbye, ‘Retweet’ button. Hello, ‘Share’ button. Twitter’s latest experiment.”
Twitter has yet to commented on it and has not confirmed it.
