The top two students of United High School in Monmouth, Illinois, have a lot in common. They’re not just siblings, they’re twins.
Addison and Cole McKee are the valedictorian and salutatorian respectively at their high school, and both of them gave speeches at the graduation ceremony that took place Saturday, May 14.
“They both are really driven on their own,” their mother Freda McKee told ABC News. “I would say they are the best of friends, but they also can probably be the worst of enemies.”
Cole would have been valedictorian if not for the fact that he got a B in world history.
“The only rebuttal I have to that is ACT score, because I beat her in that,” Cole said.
The twins aren’t rivals; quite the opposite. They not only took the top places in high school classes, but played the same sports and plan to attend the same college.
“I think we’re kind of like each other’s biggest fans in a way,” Addison said.
