President-elect Donald Trump is slated to meet with Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke at Trump Tower, it has been reported.
A frequent guest on various Fox News programs, Clarke was a notable Trump surrogate during the election. Clarke, known for his anti-Black Lives Matter stance, endorsed Trump during the Republican National Convention in July.
Trump’s transition team confirmed a meeting between the two has been confirmed, but wouldn’t say if Clarke is being considered for a position in his administration, reported Breitbart News. The meeting will occur on Monday.
“The president-elect meets with individuals who he believes he wants to hear their ideas, suggestions and opinions and then sometimes considers them for multiple potential positions,” said Sean Spicer, a spokesman for Trump.
Trump has been meeting with a multitude of candidates to fill the various positions in his pending administration.
On Friday, Trump named K.T. McFarland, who served in three Republican administrations, as his deputy national security adviser. He also named Donald McGahn, an attorney for the Trump campaign, to be his White House counsel, according to a statement from the Trump transition team.
“I am proud that KT has once again decided to serve our country and join my national security team,” the President-elect said in a statement. “She has tremendous experience and innate talent that will complement the fantastic team we are assembling, which is crucial because nothing is more important than keeping our people safe.”
Trump’s pick for national security adviser, retired Gen. Michael Flynn, first announced the move Friday on Twitter. “So proud & honored to have KT McFarland as part of our National Security team. She will help us #MAGA,” Flynn tweeted.
