“I’m seeing a lot of talk from people that are supposed to be on our side telling GOP voters not to go out & vote for @KLoeffler and @PerdueSenate. That is NONSENSE. IGNORE those people. We need ALL of our people coming out to vote for Kelly & David.”
Georgia will have a runoff election on Jan. 5 for two U.S. Senate seats due to no candidates receiving more than 50 percent of the vote.
Sen. David Perdue (R-Ga.), got 49.7 percent from the regular election, while his opponent, Democratic nominee Jon Ossoff, received 47.9 percent.
The other race is between Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler and Democratic candidate Raphael Warnock. They will advance to the runoff election for the same reason.
Loeffler and Purdue both stated that they support President Trump’s recount request in Georgia with signature matching.
Vice President Mike Pence went to Georgia on Nov. 20 to campaign for the two Republican senators.
“Because the Republican Senate majority could be the last line of defense for all that we’ve done to defend this nation, revive our economy and preserve the God-given liberties that we hold dear,” Pence said during a rally, “We need the great state of Georgia to defend the majority and the road to a Senate Republican majority goes straight through the state of Georgia.”
The White House hasn’t said whether President Donald Trump will travel to Georgia to campaign for the senators. Biden aide Ron Klain said earlier this month that he believes Democratic candidate Joe Biden will visit the state.
