President Donald Trump’s deputy chief of staff said in a message late Thursday that administration officials should be proud of what they’ve accomplished over the past four years.

“I encourage all Trump Administration Officials to hold your heads up high, and be proud of what you have accomplished together, over the past four years, for the American People,” Dan Scavino, the deputy chief of staff, wrote on Facebook.

“While cancel culture kicks into high gear, and blacklisting of our names for future employment is underway, stay strong, and we will all prevail!” he added.

A number of officials have resigned in recent days because of the Jan. 6 Capitol breach and the House of Representatives impeached Trump on Wednesday for incitement of insurrection, alleging his words led to the breach.

Ten Republicans joined Democrats in impeaching Trump, claiming what happened was too much.

“The President of the United States helped organize and incite a mob that attacked the United States Congress,” Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (R-Ohio) said in a statement.

A timeline showed Trump wasn’t finished speaking in Washington when people at the Capitol, about two miles away, began clashing with law enforcement and moving past barriers before later breaching the building.

Scavino made no mention of the situation that unfolded at the Capitol. He said that a Republican senator messaged him a congratulatory message.

“A great Republican Senator messaged me tonight—I wanted to share, because it holds true for each and everyone of you in the Trump Administration, and at agencies across the entire federal government: ‘I appreciate your service over four long, tough years. Hold your head high for what you accomplished during a very consequential time,’” Scavino wrote, less than a week before President-elect Joe Biden is set to take office.

“Agreed, so true! Each and everyone of you have made a significant difference—and history along the way!” he added.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo sounded a similar theme earlier this week. “History will reflect on the good work that this president, and our administration, has done,” he said, pointing to Trump’s crackdown on the Chinese Communist Party, the unprecedented peace accords the president helped bring about in the Middle East, and the heightened challenge to Iran.

Trump backers say the president will continue to dominate the Republican Party, setting the agenda and leading the charge to take back the House and Senate in 2022 and possibly run for president again two years later. Critics say the party is set to move on, noting Trump lost the election and has lost the support of some Republican legislators and voters.

Trump touted his accomplishments during the speech last week.

“We created the greatest economy in history. We rebuilt our military. We get you the biggest tax cuts in history. We got you the biggest regulation cuts. There’s no President, whether it’s four years, eight years, or in one case more, got anywhere near the regulation cuts. We created Space Force. Look at what we did. Our military has been totally rebuilt,” he said.

Trump also noted he signed the “Right to Try Act” into law, which enables terminal patients to seek investigational treatments.

“We’ve done things like nobody’s ever thought possible,” he said. “And that’s part of the reason that many people don’t like us, because we’ve done too much, but we’ve done it quickly.”
