Michael Lindell, the inventor of “My Pillow,” said President Donald Trump was chosen by a higher power to seek the presidency. He spoke on the opening day of the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Maryland on Feb. 28.
“God answered our prayers, our millions of prayers and gave us grace and a miracle happened on Nov. 8, 2016,” said Lindell, 57, founder and CEO of a specialty pillow company.
“We were given a second chance and time granted to get our country back on track with our conservative values and getting people saved in Jesus’ name. As I stand before you today, I see the greatest president in history. Of course, he is, he was chosen by God.”
Lindell began his speech sharing how he emerged from addictions in 2009 and how God started him on a path to “a restored heart.”
He said he was oblivious to what was happening around him at the time. “What I saw before me were friends unemployed, terrible political correctness, people saying ‘Happy Holidays’ instead of ‘Merry Christmas,’ and people trying to take God out of everything, and not even acknowledging Jesus Christ,” he said.
Lindell fast-forwarded the events of 2015 and mentioned how he felt when he saw Donald Trump coming out of an escalator and announcing his bid for the presidency. “For me, it was a divine and miraculous movement, I felt that something miraculous was about to unfold,” he said.
He mentioned he knew nothing about politics at the time. “I didn’t know a liberal from a conservative. I started reading about it and I couldn’t believe what I read.”
Lindell then fast-forwarded to 2016, when he was invited to meet Donald Trump at the Trump Tower in New York City in August 2016. He recalled the event as being “in divine appointments and one was especially important. ... I walked out of that office after meeting with him and I knew God had chosen him for such a time as this.”
Lindell applauded President Trump for achieving record employment rates, improved wages, greater consumer confidence, and a better environment for entrepreneurship. “I see GDP growth approaching 4 percent, I see ISIS demolished and trade deals getting made and getting done. I see promises made and promises kept,” he said.
“I actually had a dream that I would meet Donald Trump in an office, and then all of a sudden he ran for president,” Lindell had told the network.
When Lindell met with Trump in 2016, he spoke about made-in-America products.
“I just believed in Donald Trump so much after that meeting with him … He has a heart that cares. And maybe people don’t see that out there when he’s on TV and stuff, because he’s such a fighter and wants to win and wants to help this country so bad and help people,” Lindell was quoted by CNN as saying.
Lindell invested $1 million last year into an anti-abortion movie “Unplanned,” which takes a critical stance against planned parenthood.
