Troy Polamalu, the unmistakable strong safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers, now probably has the most expensive hair in the National Football League, Head & Shoulders announced Monday.
Lloyd’s of London has insured Polamalu’s famous ringlets for $1 million as part of his sponsorship contract with Head & Shoulders.
“As a second year spokesperson for the brand, Head & Shoulders recognizes the value of Troy’s extremely full and thick Samoan locks,” the hair care company said in a press release.
Polamalu’s three-foot-long curly black hair flows out of his helmet and down his back. If lined up end to end, his hair spans 100 football fields.
“Head & Shoulders has gone above and beyond by insuring my Samoan locks for a cool $1 million dollars,” said 29-year-old Polamalu, who hasn’t had a haircut for more than seven years. “This reinforces that my full and thick hair is unstoppable.”
Polamalu started playing for Pittsburgh Steelers in 2003.
