Toyota Racing has confirmed its plans for the remaining 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship season.
The team will cut back to one TS030 Hybrid LMP-1 for the remaining five races while focusing on its all-new 2014 LMP-1 entry.
Anthony Davidson, Sébastien Buemi and Stéphane Sarrazin, drivers of the #8 TS030, which has more championship points, will compete at Sao Paulo (September 1) and Austin (September 22).
Alex Wurz and Nicolas Lapierre, drivers of the #7 TS030, will focus on developing the 2014 car with testing and simulation sessions while third driver Kazuki Nakajima will continue to defend his Super Formula title while also racing in Super GT.
Driver line-ups and number of entries for the remaining three races will be announced at as later date, though it is suspected that Toyota will enter both cars in its home race, the Six Hours of Fuji, on October 20.
The team will split its efforts between the ongoing 2013 WEC season and the development of its 2014 car in order to make best use of the available resources.
Toyota joined WEC competition in 2012, winning three of the six races it entered, finishing second in one other, against the much better funded factory Audi efforts. So far the TS030 has yet to win in 2013 but has scored three podium finishes in three races.
