A victim of the devastating tornado that carved through Moore, Okla., found her dog buried alive in the rubble of her home.
Barbara Garcia, an elderly pensioner, found her dog after she pulled herself out of the rubble. She could not find the animal initially after the tornado smashed into her house.
“I thought God just answered one prayer, to let me be OK, but he answered both of them,” Garcia said, according to CBS News. “Because this was my second prayer.”
At least 24 people were killed in the tornado, according to a new death toll released on Tuesday. Some reports said that as many as 90 people were killed.
CBS News reported that her dog took shelter in the bathroom.
