Top Teams Albion, Wanderers and USRC Win in Yau Yee League

HONG KONG—The Premier league took another break this weekend due to the first round of league cup matches. The Premier League will resume with games during this week.

HONG KONG—The Premier league took another break this weekend due to the first round of league cup matches. The Premier League will resume with games during this week.

In last weekend’s first division games (Oct 25 and 26), HKFC won Saturday night’s encounter with Wanchai 4-nil at Sports Road, whilst in Sunday’s games, Kwai Tsing were beaten 1-2 by Sun Hei, Citizen won 1-nil against Tai Chung, Double Flower were 4-2 victors over Happy Valley, Kwun Tong drew 2-all with Lucky Mile, and Metro Gallery Sun Source defeated Yau Tsim Mong 2-1.

Metro Gallery Sun Source now lead the table on 20-points, with HKFC second on 17-points, and Shatin are third on 16-points with a game in hand.

In the second division, Kowloon City were defeated 1-nil by Kwong Wah, New Fair Kuitan were defeated 8-nil by Mutual, Eastern District drew 1-all with Wing Yee, Sai Kung were 2-nil victors over Tsuen Wan, Sham Shui Po won 5-2 against Tuen Mun, and Kwok Keung won 2-1 against Fire Services. Wing Yee now lead the table on 16-points, followed by Mutual on 15-points, with Sham Shui Po third on 13-points, and Sai Kung fourth on 12-points.

In the third division, GFC Friends were beaten 2-1 by Tung Sing, Central and Western won 3-nil against King Mountain, Rainbow Legend North District were 8-nil victors against Lung Moon, Telecom were defeated 2-4 by St Joseph’s, KCDRSC were beaten 2-1 by Fukien, Fu moon were 3-2 winners over Ornament, and KCC were beaten 1-4 by Islands. Tung Sing lead the table with 24-points and a 100% record, with Central and Western second on 22-points, and GFC Friends and Fukien joint third on 18-points.

Yau Yee League
In first division games, The Store House Squadron were beaten nil-4 by Albion, Baker Tilly Spartans were 1-nil victors over KCC Dragons, Corinthians were defeated 1-2 by Wanderers, French Kiss were 2-1 winners against Boca Seniors, USRC were 4-nil victors over Swiss XI, and GAS were 3-2 victors over Colts.

In the early game at Sports Road, Wanderers started well against Corinthians and created several chances before taking the lead in the 12th minute when a Corinthians defender near the right-hand corner hooked a clearance to the edge of their penalty box, and the ball was fed to Rory Hussey who drove the ball past the advancing goalkeeper into the back of the net. After further pressure, and wasted chances, Wanderers extended their lead after 29 minutes when a shot from the right was wide of the left hand post, and was rescued and squared back into the 6-yard box where Anthony Sassi hooked the ball into the right-hand corner of the net and a 2-nil half-time lead.

Corinthians came out in the second half with a more determined demeanour and made more of a contest which had been one sided for most of the first half. Corinthians pulled a goal back in the 57th minute when, after working the ball down the left-hand side, the ball was curled into the net past James Seddon by David Jordan.

Albion lead the table on 18-points, with USRC and Wanderers joint second on 17-points.

In division 2, WYFC06 won 1-nil over Interglobo Colloids, HKU70’s won 2-nil over ANP, KCC Knights won 4-3 over SFALO Oxford, Antonhill beat The Store House Hearts 1-nil, Azzurri were beaten nil-6 by HKDC Mobsters, and GGFC won 4-1 over CS Old Boys.

HKDC Mobsters and HKU70’s are joint leader’s of the table with 16-points, while the previous week’s leader’s Azzurri are third on 15-points.

In division 3, HKUSA won 2-nil against Goal Visio, University beat White Youth 3-1, Dynamo drew 1-all with Scorpions, CAPS drew 2-all with Darts, HOB won 1-nil against Green Cypress FC, and IES were 3-nil victors over Yan PO.

IES lead the table unbeaten on 19-points, followed by University on 17-points.

In division 4,Youth Coaches drew 1-all with Rising Sun, Friends of Barclays were beaten nil-1 by Grasshoppers, HKSS were 4-nil victors over Outward Bound, Standard Chartered drew 1-all with Bapcoll, Skyline were 5-1 winners against WYFC84, and Power 22 drew 1-all with Hung Art.

HKSS lead the table on 18-points, with Power 22 second on 17-points.
