Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson are “in stable condition” in an Australian hospital after the pair were diagnosed with the new coronavirus, which causes the disease COVID-19.

Officials told Fox News the details of their health after Hanks confirmed he and his wife tested positive on Wednesday night. The two are being treated at a Queensland hospital and are in isolation, according to Australian authorities.

“We wish them a very speedy recovery,” Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk told reporters.

Hanks was in Australia to shoot an Elvis Presley biopic directed by Baz Luhrmann. The film, scheduled for release in October of next year, has suspended production, Warner Bros. said in a statement to media outlets.

On social media, Hanks wrote, “Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive.”

He added, “Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no? We’ll keep the world posted and updated. Take care of yourselves!”

Their son, Chet Hanks, posted a video message on Instagram telling fans that the two “are both fine. They’re not even that sick.”

“They’re not worried about it, they’re not trippin’, but they’re going through the necessary health precautions, obviously,” Chet said. “I don’t think it’s anything to be too worried about. I think it’s all going to be alright.”

In 2013, Hanks, 63, confirmed to news outlets that he suffers from Type 2 diabetes.

“We are working closely with the appropriate Australian health agencies to identify and contact anyone who may have come in direct contact with the individual. The health and safety of our company members is always our top priority, and we are taking precautions to protect everyone who works on our productions around the world,” Warner Bros. wrote in a statement.
