Tim Duncan’s girlfriend has been in the news this week after she wore a shirt “Barkley don’t know” to game 1 of the Spurs-Thunder series, referring to Barkley’s recent comments that the women of San Antonio are fat and are a “gold mine” for Weight Watchers.
Vanessa Macias, already fairly well-known for being Duncan’s girlfriend, and for competing on The Amazing Race, popped up in a video and photos from the game with the shirt on.
She later revealed that she can’t take credit for the idea.
“My boss, wanted to make a statement to Chuck & showcase San Antonio positively. So he made shirts,” she said via Twitter.
Her boss, she says, is Armando Montelongo, who helps teach people how to flip houses and grow rich in the real estate investment business.
She said on her Amazing Race profile that she does freelance writing for television commercials and shows, although that was several years ago.
Macias, 34, also said that she’s an amazing communicator who is smart but impatient. “My years in TV and politics have made me great at dealing with difficult people,” she said.
She was actually on the CBS reality competition with her former husband, Ralph Kelley. It said that they were dating at the time of filming, but that they broke up after the race.
“We blame each other for everything. Neither one of us likes to take responsibility for our mistakes and we can justify anything. I want to address how we are sometimes mean to each other,” she said.
