Participants gathered at Pier 84 on Saturday to walk out to Randall’s Island and back. They raised awareness and funds to find a cure and got a tour of the city, as the route weaved through Chelsea, Soho, across the Brooklyn Bridge and back, and right up to the Upper East Side.

The walk raised more than $9 million last year. It has raised $400 million since 2003.

Tens of thousands participated in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks this weekend in all five boroughs, as well as on Long Island, as part of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
