A viral Facebook post, which says “This Woman Thought it was a Normal Allergy Under Her Skin,” is fake.
The bogus post includes an image of a person getting something removed from his or her skin.
When users click on the post, they are taken to a site that asks to give it access to the user’s Facebook account.
According to Online Threat Alerts:
The fake video sharing website and post below: “This Woman thought it was a normal allergy under her skin. But when the doctor revealed,” are considered malicious and spammy. The website will attempt to trick you into giving it access to your Facebook account and take you to malicious advertisements that will attempt to trick you into installing malicious software on your computer. If you are taken to the website below or similar ones, please do not give it access to your Facebook account and do not install any software that you are prompt to download.
Here’s what the whole post reads: “This Woman thought it was a normal allergy under her skin. But when the doctor revealed? It’s...With the help of his doctor and surgery team they puts the gloves on in order to remove the insect inside her skin.”
If you’ve allowed the rogue app access to your Facebook account, one can remove the app on their Facebook account. It’s either called “YouTube Trends” or “Newly Daily Entertainment.”
