The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman seems to have announced the next villain in the television series, who may first appear late in season 5 or sometime in season 6.
Rick and most of the group are stuck at Terminus at the end of season 4, and the show executives have indicated about half of season 5 will take place in and around the seemingly cannibal haven.
That leaves the other part of the season up in the air and not much storyline or other news has been coming out yet.
However, Kirkman did reveal in a recent interview with MTV that Negan--the infamous villain from the comic book series--is as subject of discussion between himself and executive producer Scott Gimple.
“As far as Negan casting goes, Scott and I are always talking about who we would put in that, it’s definitely on our minds, and there are definitely a lot of candidates,” he said.
“But I wouldn’t expect Negan too terribly soon, although he is definitely in the plan. It’s a 99% lock that he’s going to be in the show eventually, so be on the lookout for that.”
Negan would likely become another dead enemy of Rick’s, as he has in the comics. Before that happens, he would probably take out some of Rick’s group (who knows who would be part of it at that point), as he did in the comics. Maybe even Glenn.
Season 5 is about to start filming and will premiere in October 2014.
