“The Tomorrow People” on CW has earned some fans, and some critics, during season 1. People are wondering whether there will be a season 2.
TV Guide, using its Renew/Cancel Index, indicates that it’s a toss up whether the show will be renewed or canceled. The index is calculated by dividing a show’s new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show’s own network.
The show is being shifted to Monday nights at 9 p.m. as of March 17 amid other new shows being introduced, such as “The 100.”
Executive Producer Greg Berlanti is one of those who believes that there will be a season 2.
He told Digital Spy that he and his team have “a lot of ideas” for the future of the show.
“We definitely have it planned out,” he said. “I think like any shows that are doing about what we’re doing [ratings-wise] in the States, it will definitely be a conversation.
“We‘ll have to make our case for why and hopefully the TV gods will look upon us fondly and we’ll get a shot at it.”
The show is a re-make of a classic science-fiction series that aired on ITV.
The CW network did extend the show to a full season last winter, along with The Originals and Reign.
