The 2012 inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have been chosen. They are Beastie Boys, Donovan, Guns N' Roses, Laura Nyro, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and The Small Faces/The Faces.

The 27th annual induction ceremony takes place on April 14, 2012, in Cleveland and airs on HBO in May. Tickets will be sold to the public beginning Dec. 17.

Celine Dion to Play Charity Concert

Songstress Celine Dion will play The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Jan. 15 in support of children’s sickle cell research. The “Play Without Pain” benefit concert will feature the singer performing her acclaimed Vegas show.

Dion said in a press release, “As a mother, I was incredibly moved by the stories that were shared with me regarding the impact this disease has on children. Participating in this benefit is a way in which I can get involved to positively touch these children’s lives. The funds we raise will enable doctors to complete their important research that will allow these children to grow up pain-free and lead longer, more productive lives.”

David E. Kelley, Dr. Sanjay Gupta Collaborate on Drama

Television hit-maker David E. Kelley is working with CNN medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta to bring to the small screen the medical drama tentatively called “Chelsea General,” Reuters reports.

Cable network TNT has picked up the pilot for the show that will be based on Gupta’s upcoming novel, “Monday Mornings.” The book “follows the lives of five surgeons at Chelsea General as they push the limits of their abilities and confront their personal and professional failings,” according to its publisher.
