Abigail Breslin to Portray Helen Keller

Little Miss Sunshine star Abigail Breslin has been cast in the upcoming Broadway revival of William Gibson’s The Miracle Worker. The 13-year-old actress will portray Helen Keller in the story based on Keller’s autobiography The Story of My Life. The film illustrates the relationship between the deaf and blind child and her teacher Anne Sullivan, who cared for and educated her. “The Miracle Worker” was first made for television in the 1950s, then adapted for theater and later made into an Academy Award-winning film. The upcoming production is scheduled to open on March 3 at Circle in the Square Theatre.

Stars Support the Good Works of Neil Young

Musician Neil Young hosted his annual Bridge School Benefit Concert this past weekend. The Bridge School was co-founded by Young’s wife, Pegi, and is a charitable organization that caters to the needs of children with speech and physical impairments. The couple has two children with cerebral palsy and one with epilepsy. This year’s event featured appearances by many stars including Gwen Stefani and her reunited band No Doubt; Gavin Rossdale, Adam Sandler, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Jimmy Buffet, and of course—Mr. Neil Young.

‘Friends’ Reunite on ‘Cougar Town’

Actress and former star of the hit sit-com Friends, Lisa Kudrow will make a guest appearance on ABC’s Cougar Town.” This will mark the first time since the Friends series finale that Kudrow has shared the screen with fellow alum Courtney Cox Arquette—the current star of the ABC primetime show. Cox Arquette spoke to “TV Guide” of Kudrow’s part saying, “If it all works out, she'll play a dermatologist that my character can’t stop going to even though the doctor is mean to me.”

Bullet Strikes Home of Journalist Lou Dobbs

A police investigation is underway in New Jersey to determine who fired the shot that struck the house of CNN commentator Lou Dobbs. Dobbs told the listeners of his radio show, on Monday, that the incident occurred earlier this month after he received a series of threatening phone calls. Dobbs explained, “This shot was fired with my wife not, I don’t know, 15 feet away …” Dobbs believes the shot to be an act of retaliation against his views on illegal immigration.

Paul McCartney Pens New Song

Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney has written the song (I Want to) Come Home to be featured in the upcoming film Everybody’s Fine. The musician reportedly felt a deep connection to the story after screening the film that stars Robert DeNiro, Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale, and Sam Rockwell. Everybody’s Fine depicts the experience of a widower who takes to the road to reconnect with his adult children and is surprised to find the state their lives are in. In a statement, McCartney said, “I could definitely identify with Robert De Niro’s character because I have grown-up kids who have their own families.” Everybody’s Fine hits theaters on December 4.
