Editor’s note: The Epoch Times publishes here direct translations of statements made by Chinese people who renounced the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its subordinate organizations. Statements such as these are submitted to a website affiliate of the Chinese version of The Epoch Times, Dajiyuan. The movement to renounce, withdraw from, or quit the CCP, called “Tuidang” in Chinese, began in late 2004, soon after The Epoch Times published the “Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party,” an editorial series that explores the nature and history of the CCP. The statements offer a rare and candid glimpse of history in the making. Chinese people are turning their backs on the Communist Party, choosing conscience over convenience, and peacefully ushering in a future China, free of Party rule.
The following is a selection of edited quitting statements by Chinese nationals on Oct. 5–7.
I Experienced the Great Famine
When I was young I experienced the Great Famine. [The Great Famine, also known as the Great Leap Forward, killed an estimated 30 million Chinese between 1958 -1961; Ed. note.] On the worst days, we would drag eight or nine bodies of villagers who had died from hunger that morning. Then we went to work in the fields. Authorities kept people from stealing and eating sweet potatoes and other foods. At the end of the day our pockets were checked to see if we had any leftover food on us. The evil party treated us worse than animals. Now, I have heard about the three withdrawals, and I want to hereby quit from the evil CCP’s Young Pioneers and erase the mark of the evil party.Du Jinhua, Gaomi, Shandong Province

The Disintegration of the CCP is Inevitable
The CCP has committed all kinds of heinous crimes, violated human rights and looks down on Gods. It is just like a demon. Therefore, I am withdrawing myself from the Young Pioneers. I hope everyone else will do the same, because the disintegration of the CCP is inevitable, just like it was in the Soviet Union. So, everyone, please, do not hold on to it. I have already quit from the Youth League, and now I am quitting the Young Pioneers.Xia Qiji, Jiangsu, China

Forced to Join, Quitting is a True Awakening
I remember joining the Youth League and the Young Pioneers; it was all arranged for us. I twice refused to join the communist party, though back then I did not have a good understanding about its evilness. Nonetheless, I was able to make a judgment of conscience, telling right from wrong, so I did not join. Now, I solemnly declare that I am quitting the Young Pioneers. The purpose is to make a statement about the stand I am taking: I want to separate myself completely from the evil.Xu Yuan, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China

I Hope Doomsday is Not Far Off For the CCP
I have never had a good opinion of the CCP, especially after being forced to become unemployed. When my son was in middle school, I cautioned him never to enroll in any organization or group. My son heeded my advice. Today, I learned that just by being on one of the youth teams could make me a part of the evil party. So, I hereby announce my renunciation from the [Young Pioneers] team and I hope that doomsday is not far off for the CCP.Lian Wei, Shandong Province, China

I Choose a Bright Future
What I personally experienced as a leading member of an office has made me realize that the CCP is really wicked, and what the Falun Dafa followers say is true. I hereby solemnly renounce from the party and its affiliated youth groups. I choose a bright future and remove the vestiges of the evil beast.Li Tianyou, Hebei Province, Mainland China

Quitting the Party and Its Two Youth Groups
My name is Meng Zhenqiang. I was shocked when I logged onto the Dynaweb website for the first time and noticed the statistics of more than 500 million visitors. After viewing the short video about the 120 million party renunciations, I had mixed feelings because of my work experiences. I now realize that the CCP is egregiously wicked, and I congratulate myself for realizing the truth of the CCP’s impending annihilation by heaven, and the fact that the making the three renunciations save lives. Thus, I seriously urge those who have once joined the evil party, Young Pioneers, and Youth League to quit and become a genuine son of China.Meng Zhenqiang

I heard the Gunshots
I have long understood the CCP’s evil nature, because during the June 4 movement [1989 Tiananmen Square massacre], I lived near the Square and heard the gunshots. Now, I follow the advice of my friends and renounce from the Youth League. I hope our country improves.Wen Shuai

Quitting From the Communist Party, Youth League, and Young Pioneers
The CCP is very evil. Its atrocities and scandals are beyond description. Some of them include collusion with gangsters to forcibly demolish homes without regard for people’s lives, inept officials, corruption, government officials raping girls, environmental pollution, stagnation of the economy, skyrocketing inflation, soaring housing prices and medical costs, all of which have unnerved people.Xia Qicai, Yuan Jinqin, and Xia Jian

I Quit the Evil CCP Group
I voluntarily renounce the CCP and its youth organizations. What has happened during the past few years has made me realize that the CCP is indeed an evil, decayed, and awful organization. Through renouncing it, I feel that I can be a genuine Chinese. I also appeal to those who have not yet taken this step, to do it.Liu Yuanyuan, Hubei Province

Group Withdrawal
Those who believe in truthfulness, compassion and forbearance are good people [reference to Falun Gong, Ed. note]. The CCP’s constant harassment of good people proves its wickedness. Goodness defeating evil is a heavenly principle. Therefore, the annihilation of the CCP is also a heavenly principle. We freely renounce from the Chinese Youth League, an affiliated organization of the evil CCP.Zhu Ying and Zuo Xiaojie Oct. 7, 2012, 8:14 p.m.
Since the publication of the “Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party” by The Epoch Times, 125,864,494 people have quit the CCP and it’s affiliated youth organizations.
