Good news for those of us who love the Bing homepage images, as of yesterday, Microsoft has finally announced that the site will now host high-definition images up to 1920x1080 pixels along with a few other new features.

Many users have been asking for high-resolution images on the Bing site for some time, especially with the gorgeous images which are sometimes shown off. Microsoft has improved the image quality by jumping to 1080p and having the images in wide-screen format.

The jump to high-definition isn’t the only improvement though, with new image captions helping users get more information about the image they are looking at with an improved design too.

Microsoft has also adjusted the Bing page so that users can follow stocks, news, weather and flights directly from the homepage in a carousel style; if this isn’t your kind of thing and prefer a minimal look, you can just remove the carousel completely.

Finally, they have also added access to all of the Office Online suite, so access to apps such as Outlook.com and Word Online are just a click away. The updates come just a short time after Microsoft made it easier to search for both animated GIFs and emojis.
