Matt Schaub threw for 315 yards, Andre Johnson had 188 yards receiving, while Arian Foster ran for 102 and a pair of touchdowns as the Houston Texans (10-1) topped Detroit (4-7) 34–31 in overtime Thursday.
Matt Stafford threw for 441 yards for Detroit on 31/61 passing but was sacked three times by Houston defensive end J.J. Watt. Two receivers for the Lions, Calvin Johnson and Ryan Broyles each had over 100 yards receiving in the loss.
The game was partially altered when Lions coach Jim Schwartz threw his challenge flag after officials didn’t rule Texans running back Justin Forsett down after eight yards of his 81-yard touchdown run. All scoring plays automatically are subject to review so if a team challenges a scoring play, it receives an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
“I was so mad they didn’t call him down,” Schwartz said after the game, according to a report on the NFL’s website.
