A teen in Japan ran up a $54,000 bar tab on his dad’s credit card, but the father will not have to pay the majority of it back, it was reported.

The unnamed 16-year-old used his father’s American Express credit card in Kyoto, going to luxury bars and drinking $3,700 bottles of sparkling wine and whisky, according to AFP.

He also went to clubs where patrons pay for time spent with attractive women, who then laugh at their host’s jokes and wit.

The Kyoto District Court ruled a week ago that the father will not have to pay most of the bar tab back. The credit card company and bar owners will pay the bulk of it.

The court said the father has to pay around $8,000 of the bill.

Last week, Daft Punk member Thomas Bangalter told Rolling Stone that man in Ibiza “ran up exorbitant bar tabs at clubs while claiming to be me” years ago. He did not disclose the amount spent.

Bangalter said the man used the duo’s relative anonymity to masquerade as the French pop star.

“One thing I like about the masks is that I don’t have people constantly coming up to me and reminding me what I do,” he said.
