Taipei is this year’s host of the prestigious Les Voyages Extraordinaires, a high jewellery collection by Van Cleef & Arpels that had its premiere in Paris last year. An honoured guest at the launch party on Jan. 7 was Chinese supermodel Du Juan, who wore a set including a necklace, earring, and ring called Medusa.
The idea for Les Voyages Extraordinaires was reportedly inspired by four novels by French author Jules Verne: Five Weeks in a Balloon, From the Earth to the Moon, Voyage To The Centre Of The Earth, and Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea.
