The Swedish chief prosecutor Solveig Wollstad told reporters at a press conference on Tuesday that suspicions against detainee Peter Mangs had increased since his arrest last Saturday. The police found two guns in his house.
During the last 12 months, a string of shootings targeting immigrants have terrorized the city. According information from the police, fifteen cases of shootings in the city during the period are unresolved. One person was killed.
Peter Mangs is currently suspected for one murder and at least five murder attempts, according to the police. Media reports describe the man an arrogant loner who has little contact with his neighbors.
