Super Smash Bros. 4, which is expected to come out this year, got a yet another teaser for the 3DS.
On a Nintendto website, a special stage for the 3DS showed an 8-bit stage. “Pic of the day. Here’s a special stage exclusive to the 3DS version, Balloon Fight!! The stage loops on the left and right sides so you can walk off one side and appear on the other,” says Masahiro Sakurai in a posting as part of his Pic of the Day series.
Earlier this year, Nintendo told IGN that “Super Smash Bros 4” will be released for the 3DS in the summer, but did not specify when. The Wii U version will likely come out later in the winter, Nintendo said.
In the 3DS version, Sakurai said earlier this month that “your character starts a Smash Run as a relatively ordinary fighter. But before the game, you can outfit yourself with certain items that can help power you up early, which will give you a big advantage later on!! These items are much like the Powers you’d find in Kid Icarus: Uprising.”
On it’s Facebook, Super Smash Bros said that the “Nintendo 3DS features Smash Run, a 4-player battle game in which power-ups are the key to victory,” and it included a video.
Last year, Sakurai described the process of adding and removing characters.
“The amount of stress I feel, it’s almost to the brink of death,” Sakurai told Polygon. “Because it’s not just a matter of me personally thinking this character or that character is going to be in the game; it’s that we also have the game balance, animation, graphics and sound to think about in order to make that character fully fleshed out in that universe. I have to think about all of that when I go through this decision-making process.”
