Super Bowl Week Brings Super Bowl Performances

Super Bowl Week has now descended upon the Streets of New York City and New Jersey. All this week, millions will be walking on parts of Broadway temporarily called “Super Bowl Boulevard.” Before the Broncos and Seahawks face off along big halftime show Sunday with Bruno Mars and Red Hot Chili Peppers in the Meadowlands, many of today’s biggest artists will be performing at various places throughout New York and New Jersey. Some of these live performances will be broadcasted on VH1 at 11 P.M.  

Please note that many of these performances are either sold out or filled up via RSVP and there will likely be athlete and celebrity sightings.

Monday 1/27:

J.Cole will perform at Kupferberg Center For the Arts at Queens College. Part of the VH1 Super Bowl Blitz series, it will air at 11 P.M.

 

Tuesday 1/28:

Janelle Monae will bring her soulful presence at Lehman College in the Bronx. Her performance will be aired on VH1.

 

Wednesday 1/29:

Pop-Punkers Fall Out Boy will be lightening it up in the relatively small Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg. The show will be aired on VH1.

Citi Evenings With Legends will have John Legend perform at the McKittrick Hotel in Manhattan.

Pop singer and heartthrob Austin Mahone will be playing a free show at Bryant Park as part of Pepsi presents.

 

Thursday 1/30:

VH1 will air the legendary group TLC performing to a sold out crowd at the Beacon Theatre.

Citi Legends With Legends will continue its series by having Band of Horses perform at the McKittrick Hotel.

Bud Light & EA Sports Hip Hop NYC Part will have Run DMC, The Roots & Busta Rhymes perform at Bud Light Hotel (a ship with a 4,000 person capacity) at Pier 88 in Manhattan.

Time Warner Cable Studios, located in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, will host Fox Sports 1’s Thursday Night Super Bash where Kings of Leon will perform some of their biggest hits.

Latin singer Prince Royce will be playing a free show at Bryant Park as part of Pepsi Presents.

 

Friday 1/31:

The Goo Goo Dolls will perform at St. George Theatre in Staten and will be aired on VH1.

Shape and Men’s Fitness will have John Legend, Mary J. Blige and Marc Anthony perform at Cipriani in Manhattan on 42nd Street.

Pier 36 in Manhattan will host the ESPN 10th Annual Super Bowl Party where Kendrick Lamar and Robin Thicke will play.

Hammerstein Ballroom will be hosting Howard Stern’s 60th Birthday Bash.

Beacon Theatre will host the JBL Party where Maroon 5 with a performance by Maroon 5.

Citi and Live Nation’s Evenings With Legends will continue its series with Grammy Award winners The Black Keys performing at the legendary Roseland Ballroom before it closes in April. Tickets are going for $65. 

Pandora Presents Party will have a performance by recent Grammy Winners Imagine Dragons at Bud Light Hotel at Pier 88 in Manhattan

Time Warner Cable Studios will host ASPIRE’s Ultimate 70s Soul Party where The O Jays will play.

Madison Square Garden will host The 15th Annual NFL Super Bowl Gospel Celebration with performances from Patti Labelle, Mary Mary, Natalie Grant, Tamela Mann and Donnie McClurkin.

Good Units at Hudson New York (356 West. 58th Street) will host Friday Night Lights. This is also the 30th Anniversary party of Def Jam Recordings. Rick Ross and DJ Khaled will play host with music from Mick and D-Nice. Current football players and former half of famer Warren Sapp will be in attendance.

 

Saturday 2/1:

Gavin Degraw will be performing at The Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, New Jersey. This will be aired on VH1.

Blondie will be performing at the Super Bowl Boulevard on West 40th Street and Broadway. 

For those who love daytime concerts, the Eighth Annual DirecTV Celebrity Beach Bowl will be held at Hudson River Park at Pier 40 where Paramore will be performing. This event is free to the public on a first come, first served basis and stays for the tailgate party preceding the concert. Doors will open at 10 A.M. and Paramore will go on at 4 P.M.

The Bud Light Main Event Concert continues at the Bud Light Hotel at Pier 88 with performances from the Foo Fighters and Zac Brown Band.

Time Warner Studios will host REVOLT Concert with performances by Drake featuring Special Guest Diddy. This is a private concert event.

The Barclays Center will be home to WFAN’s Big Hello To Brooklyn with performances by Red Hot Chili Peppers, New Politics, MS MR, J. Roddy Walston & The Business and Basic Vacation.

Kendrick Lamar will be performing at the Maxim Party located at Espace (635 West 42nd Street).

Jay-Z will be performing at DirecTV Super Saturday Night located at Hudson River Park Pier 40.  

Ziggy Marley will finish off the Pepsi Presents series with a free performance at Bryant Park.

 

Sunday 2/2:

Fall Out Boy and Jake Owen will be at the Bud Light Hotel at Pier 86 performing for the Bud Light/Pepsi Tailgate Party.

Alas, the main event. Bruno Mars and The Red Hot Chili Peppers will perform during halftime at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
