An article saying Suge Knight, the co-founder of Death Row Records, was stabbed while he was in the hospital and later died is fake.
The fake report was posted on Cream Bmp Daily, a self-described “satire” website.
Here’s what the fake article says, “Suge Knight was pronounced dead at 11 pm after a masked man stabbed the former death row record executive to death while he laid wounded in his hospital bed (sic).” It adds: “An initial investigation reveals that with low wages and most people being a fan of Tupac anybody could have been paid to let the murderer into Suge Knights room.”
According to a disclaimer, the site doesn’t publish real news and shouldn’t be taken seriously.
“CreamBmp.com Written by comedian CREAM. This website is comprised of satire and parody of current news and urban culture. For entertainment purposes only,” it says. It adds: “All reports and other information on this page may or may not be 100% accurate. It’s not news, it’s entertainment. All other comments are my personal opinion, but try not to take the [expletive] seriously and come at me with that ... because I will and do sue.”
But despite the site having a disclaimer, thousands of people were sharing the fake Suge Knight story on Sunday.
Knight was shot several times at a Chris Brown-hosted party for the VMAs. He was reportedly taken to the hospital but was able to walk under his own power.
Other details surrounding the shooting are unclear. He was shot and wounded at 1:30 a.m. at 1OAK on West Hollywood’s Sunset Boulevard.

“This incident did not involve Chris; he was merely the host of the event,” Brown’s representative said in a statement obtained by The Associated Press. “He has and will continue to cooperate with the investigation.”
A man and a woman were also shot in the incident, AP reported. They are expected to survive.
A suspect has not been identified.
