Storm chasers killed: Three storm chasers, including one of the stars from the Discovery Channel’s “Storm Chasers,” were killed during a a tornado outbreak on Friday night in Oklahoma.

At least 15 people were killed in tornadoes.

The Discovery Channel told Fox-411 television that tornado scientist Tim Samaras, who starred in the television show, was not shooting for the show.

“They were not shooting for us,” a representative told the network. “Their show aired for five seasons, but ended in November of 2011.”

Samaras was the founder of tornado research project Twistex. His 24-year-old son, Paul, and his tornado chase partner, Carl Young, were also killed, reported NBC News.

Twistex confirmed the deaths on Sunday.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share this news... on Friday, May 31, Tim Samaras, his son, Paul Samaras, and Carl Young lost their lives in the El Reno, OK tornado,” the company said in a Facebook post.

It added: “This is a devastating loss to the meteorological, research, and storm chasing communities. I ask that you keep the families in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. There is some comfort in knowing these men passed on doing what they loved... Your support means the world. Thank you.”
