Massive Steam Columns Rise in Manhattan, New York, as Water Main Breaks

A water main has broken in Manhattan, New York, on April 11.

A video of massive steam clouds raising from the street on 58th St and 6th Avenue in Manhattan, New York, was uploaded to Twitter on Monday morning.

The video is described as “@Steam pipe explosion.”

The New York Fire Department sent out a “MAN ALL HANDS 106 W 58 ST” alert at approximately 10 a.m. and confirmed via its press office that a water main broke.

Con Edison utility company is on the scene, as well as the fire department. There is no evacuation.
