Star Wars Episode 7 rumors keep flying, but it turns out two of the rumors are true.
Luipita Nyong'o of “12 Years a Slave” fame has long been rumored as part of the cast of the upcoming movie.
Today, Lucasfilm confirmed that she is.
Another female actress was confirmed, adding to the primary cast that had previously only included Daisy Ridley and Carrie Fisher on that front.
Gwendoline Christie of “Game of Thrones” fame was added as well.
There are many male actors in addition to Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill.
Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow are among the new additions.
Nyong'o is the second black actor, joining Boyega.
Specific roles for the new actors and actresses haven’t been confirmed, but some reports indicate that Driver and von Sydow will be villains while Ridley will be in a protagonist role, likely as one of the offspring of Princess Leia or Luke Skywalker.
The film is slated to hit theaters in December 2015.
