A St. Louis man has been charged with several crimes after allegedly making threats against police officers on Twitter.
Jason Valentine, 35, allegedly threatened to blow up the St. Louis City Justice Center and kill police officers in a series of tweets. He now faces 10 counts of making a terrorist threat.
Police said that Valentine “admits to using the Twitter user handle @jdstl314 and being the sole poster under that user handle.” The account was suspended on December 29 by Twitter.
Valentine allegedly said that the threats would be carried out on New Year’s Eve. “Pick a side or die with ‘em. New Year’s Eve massacre a pig night,” one of the tweets read.
Valentine also posted “211MOB” in some of his tweets, which officials believe is a gang-related term. Among the officers that Valentine mentioned by name, police say, was former Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, who shot and killed teenager Michael Brown earlier in 2014.
“#Ferguson #VonderritMyers #NoJusticeNoChristmas Shawtown 211 Mob,” another one of the tweets read.
Valentine, who lives on Castleman Avenue, is in custody and has had his bail set at $100,000, reported the St. Louis Post Dispatch.
Valentine has a prior conviction for aggravated stalking and violation of a protection order.
