A 16-year-old Florida boy was shot in the arm when three teens rode up to him and friends on bicycles on Tuesday night and began shooting.

Sherill Christmas was rushed to Homestead Hospital and is in stable condition. After being shot, Sherill ran into his friend’s home nearby. Dorothy Evans, the grandmother of that friend, said her grandson ran into the home screaming “They’re shooting.”

Evans told the Miami Herald that she immediately called 911.

“You can’t even go outside without thinking you are going to get shot,'' she said.

The shooting is just the latest in the area, coming after 6-year-old King Carter was shot dead by a stray bullet in Blue Lake Village.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
