Your outdoor space can be beautiful and stylish –no matter how much room you have.

Regardless of the size of your great outdoors, with a few simple tricks –you can maximize your space to get the most out of it.

By keeping things to scale, looking for multipurpose items, and utilizing vertical space you'll be able to increase the space you have.

Just because you have limited space, doesn’t mean you should have limited enjoyment. Here are a few simple ways that you can make the most of your outdoor living area.

Look for the Right Furniture

When it comes to choosing furniture, avoid purchasing heavy or solid furniture that will take up considerable space. Instead, look for furniture that fits into one of these categories: lightweight, foldable, or see through.

Plant a Mini Garden

Just because you have limited amounts of space doesn’t mean you can’t have a garden! A mini garden can serve more than one purpose, not only will it be a great decorative piece, it will help add life to your backyard. Choose small planters, use a ladder shelf, or plant a vertical garden wall. All great ways to save space!

Add Some Light

The right lighting can help a small space to seem bigger. Illuminate your outdoors with string lights, solar lights, and wall or pole mounted lights. A tabletop fire pit is another great addition to an outdoor patio. Lights will make the outdoors cozy and welcoming, enabling you to stay out into the evening –a great way to extend the size your home!

When it comes to decking out your outdoors, it’s usually best to adopt a ‘less is more’ approach. Avoid bulky, heavy items that will overwhelm a small space, and look for pieces that are proportionate to the amount of room that you have.
