Shyheim Franklin, arapper affiliated with the Wu-Tang clan, is in police custody. Franklin, who raps under several names including Manchild and Little Shyheim, surrendered to police on Wednesday in connection with a hit-and-run that left a woman dead on New Year’s Day.

Franklin, 36, is expected to face a charge of leaving the scene of a fatal accident, sources told the Staten Island Advance.

He posted a video on YouTube on Tuesday asking for donations to help with legal charges, directing people to send checks and money orders, or PayPal donations.

Police say Franklin ran a stop sign and slammed into the vehicle of Felipe Avila, who died. He also hit another car before getting out of the Volvo he was driving and fleeing the scene on foot.

Franklin left blood in the Volvo and on the driver’s side airbag, Advance sources said.

He was out of jail on $10,000 bail after an arrest in April over gun and drug possession charges.
