SAN FRANCISCO—Shen Yun Performing Arts continues to make a profound and lasting impression on audience members at the San Francisco War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco, California. Many audience members were of Chinese descent and deeply moved by the performance.
“This is a very awe-inspiring performance. I really feel that this is the essence of Chinese culture … Shen Yun presented 5000-year-old Chinese culture,” Ms. Wang said in an interview with NTD Television on Wednesday night.
Ms. Wang, who recently moved to the U.S. from Mainland China, received insight into her own life—a unique clarity and wisdom—by watching New York-based Shen Yun weave ancient and modern tales.
“I was moved to think that living honestly is really difficult … I also understood that in life it’s not easy to let go of fame and fortune. I think the show is done very well.”
Shen Yun has inspired Ms. Wang to make a positive change in her life.
“After seeing the show … in the future I want to slowly improve myself and now have the confidence to do so.”
“To be honest, during the last piece, I had tears in my eyes,” Ms. Wang said.
Sixth Year of Shen Yun and Anticipating More
Mr. Yiyuan Wang has seen the show each of the last six years.
“Especially these past two years, I could not wait to see the year’s new production. It is a wonderful program that incorporates many artistic elements.”
In Mr. Wang’s eyes, Shen Yun’s performance is flawless.
“It is very expressive—the dancing, the meaning behind the choreography, and the coordination with the orchestra, the composers, the vocalists—there is nothing that is not perfection.”
“Why can Shen Yun attract people like this?” he mused. “Because Shen Yun can indeed portray the thousands-of-years-old Chinese culture of harmony between heaven and man and can exhibit the Chinese traditional values. Together with Shen Yun’s great efforts, they can show the audience the spirit of the divine, and so it is able to touch people’s hearts.”
“This year’s performance—it is fantastic and no words can describe it. The show is really outstanding,” Mr. Wang said.
“Thank you Shen Yun for giving us such a wonderful time,” he added. “The performance was very exciting, very pure. I am grateful to Shen Yun for bringing us such a wonderful show, with such purity that is rarely seen in shows today.”
Professional Dancer Delights in Shen Yun
Liane Xiao, a professional dancer, enjoyed the performance and learned of traditional Chinese culture.
“I really love the choreography, the costumes were wonderful. I’m definitely going to come back next year when they come to San Francisco.”
“The elegance, the style behind it, it really touched my heart. For me, as a Chinese-American, I really learned so much. For me, born and raised in the Bay Area, I really enjoyed learning about my heritage—Chinese heritage,” Ms. Xiao said.
“I highly recommend watching the show,” she concluded.
