DENVER—A performance of Shen Yun left a deep impression on a retired Air Force Officer and CIO for Colorado State.

Mr. Robert Feingold saw Shen Yun Performing Arts International Company on Feb. 23 at the Temple Buell Theater in Denver. “These performers are very talented, very graceful, very, very, very good,” said Mr. Feingold.

Mr. Feingold commanded the U.S. Air Force Space and Warning Systems Center in Colorado Springs, and served as Colorado’s Chief Information Officer.

Shen Yun is based in New York and strives to revive 5,000 years of Chinese civilization by bringing Chinese tradition in the form of dance and music to more than 100 cities worldwide.

Shen Yun’s dancers are among the best in the world, according to the program. Through vigorous training they master the demanding standards of classical Chinese dance.

Mr. Feingold, who has traveled to China’s cities and countryside, appreciated the dances that represented some of the 55 ethnic minorities in China.

“It’s a very big country so it has a lot of diversity, and I’m glad that they included that diversity in this performance,” Mr. Feingold said.

For example, the “Inspired Dance of the Yi” depicts the Yi people from southern China, one of the oldest ethnic groups. The piece has vivid colors and a festive, playful atmosphere. “With every movement, their gorgeous rainbow-hued skirts flutter like butterflies,” according to the program.
