SAN FRANCISCO—Mr. and Mrs. Brenholz were impressed with the dancing and state-of-the-art digital backdrop when they saw Shen Yun Performing Arts at the SHN Orpheum Theatre Saturday matinee, March 23.
“I think it was very well done … the dancing is fantastic,” said Mr. Brenholz, who is the president of Silicon Valley-based IT-staffing company.
“The choreography is really good,” Mrs. Brenholz said adding that she thought the handmade costumes were beautiful.
Based in New York, Shen Yun has the mission to revive 5,000 years of traditional culture through classical Chinese and ethnic dancing, music, and song.
Shen Yun uses a digital backdrop to animate scenes and characters that take audiences on a journey through China’s history and awe-inspiring scenery.
Mr. and Mrs. Brenholz were delighted by the backdrop and Mr. Brenholz said he has never seen anything like it before.
“I am sure that almost [everyone] thinks, how is it done?” he said.
Animation on the backdrop is synchronized with all other parts of the performance and characters appear to leap in and out of the screen.
“The leaping into the water and all that, is just spectacular,” Mr. Brenholz said.
