MEXICO CITY—The curtain opened to Shen Yun Performing Arts for the first time in Mexico on Monday, May 6 at the Auditorio Nacional.
Among the audience members who witnessed the performance of the New York-based classical Chinese dance and music company was well-known actor Carlos Gascón.
The Spanish-born Mr. Gascón most recently played in the film, “Nosotros Los Nobles” (2013), which has since become the highest-grossing film in Mexico’s history.
“The dancers are wonderful; it’s amazing, the musicians are also fantastic,” Mr. Gascón said, adding that he also enjoyed the colorful hand-made costumes used in the performance.
Over the course of its over 2.5-hour long program, Shen Yun takes audiences on a journey through 5,000 years of Chinese culture, telling stories and depicting breath-taking scenes from heavenly realms, ancient legends, and modern heroic tales.
As someone who appreciates Asian culture, Mr. Gascón praised Shen Yun for presenting the Chinese culture.
