An article saying a man took a selfie photo right before he was killed by a shark is fake.
The bogus report was posted to World News Daily Report, a self-described “satire” website.
It says, “An Oregon couple’s honeymoon vacation in Florida took a dramatic turn of events as the newly wed took a selfie of himself just moments before he fell victim to a deadly shark attack.”
It then adds: “The man’s selfie that was automatically published on his facebook page took his friends by surprise, some even thinking it was a joke.”
According to a disclaimer, World News Daily Report doesn’t post real news stories and should not be taken seriously.
“World News Daily Report is a news and political satire web publication, which may or may not use real names, often in semi-real or mostly fictitious ways. All news articles contained within worldnewsdailyreport.com are fiction, and presumably fake news. Any resemblance to the truth is purely coincidental, except for all references to politicians and/or celebrities, in which case they are based on real people, but still based almost entirely in fiction,” the disclaimer says.
In the About Us section, it goes even further.
“World News Daily Report is an American Jewish Zionist newspaper based in Tel Aviv and dedicated on covering biblical archeology news and other mysteries around the Globe,” it says.
