Shania Twain married Swiss businessman Frédéric Thiébaud on New Year’s Day in Puerto Rico.
“They were married at sunset in Rincon, Puerto Rico, in front of 40 of their closest family and friends,” Twain’s representative Jason Owen told People magazine.
The 45-year-old Canadian country star’s wedding announcement came merely two weeks after her engagement announcement on her website on Dec. 21. The couple has been together since 2009.
“Frederic Nicolas Thiebaud has been a true gift to me as a compassionate, understanding friend and over time, an amazing love has blossomed from this precious friendship,” she wrote in her engagement announcement on her website.
“I’m looking forward to what the New Year has in store and to sharing it with you,” Twain added.
Twain’s most well known albums include The Woman In Me (1995) and Come On Over (1997).
